Snapchat exports
Put the date, place, and caption back on Memories you downloaded.
What gets fixed
- Reads memories_history.json or the HTML history
- Writes the saved date into JPEG, HEIC, and video files
- Keeps a location only when the history includes one
- Can burn the caption overlay onto the photo, and keep the original beside it
How to do it
- 1In Snapchat, download your Memories. The download is often several ZIP parts plus a history file.
- 2Add every ZIP part together. ExportFix merges them. Split .z01 archives are not supported — use the .zip parts.
- 3Check the preview. The first 20 files show the date before and after.
- 4Download a new ZIP, or on a computer save into a folder. Your original download is not changed.
Good to know
- If the history is missing, or it lists files that are not in the ZIPs, ExportFix stops and says which part to add.
- HEIC photos get a date and a location even when the file had no EXIF block. A damaged container is copied unchanged.
- Caption overlays are burned onto JPEG photos. Video overlays are left as separate files.
